My goal is to offer myself to local people as a someone to talk to during treatment, having completed mine nine months ago and coming out of it n pretty good shape.
When I was first diagnosed, my sister put me in touch with one of her friends in Washington DC who had completed his treatment a year ago, and talking to him just a couple times a month was a HUGE help for me.
  Cheers,
  Tom

Good for you wanting to help! If you go to the directory of members, it will allow you to search by location. When I typed in Reno, NV, you popped up. You might try plugging in Nevada or other city names close to you.
I have had the privilege of talking to a few members from my area and hope I have been helpful. Lots of times, people will see a post and private message the author.
  Sincerely, Lisa

Let your ENT know as well. Spread the word out to churches and your friends. It won't take long and you will be working with people one on one - be prepared to come up to speed on other forms of cancer as well.
If you are up to it, you may want to be involved organizing a mass OC screening in your area, partnering with us. Contact me privately for more details. I am also looking for volunteers in Northern California, Oregon and Washington.

They will always have anxious patients, so just tell your docs you are willing and able. And good for you! | | |
