Michele,

It's usually better if you edit your Signature Line by going to the tab My Stuff at the top and go to My Profile. See mine as an example. Once you do that everyone that reads any post you make will understand where you are coming from. Without more info on your specifics I can only say that if we have nodal involvement with our cancer (oral Cancer) it is located in either side of our neck and sometimes both but I have never seen it spread first to the arm pits. There are a few things that can cause nodal swelling but I would get them checked out by someone who is qualified to diagnose your symptoms.

any illness can cause nodes to become inflamed - these are the bodies defense mechanisms kicking in. i would have it checked as David said but do not be alarmed.

Be careful that you are not confusing sweat glands with lymph nodes. Get it checked, but know it could be any number of things. Try to stay positive in the interim.

Michele,
Good advice from these wonderful people.
Inflammed lymphnodes painful or not should be checked out by your docs especially with your history.
Don't get too wound up about it though because they have a job to do and can become enlarged due to many things.
If you are concerned or at all uneasy get it checked out.
Cheers,
Mike

If this is not localized to the neck I would be more inclined to think that it is infection related. Infection produces painful or sensitive nodes. Cancers for the most part, produce hard, fixated, and painless nodes. Whatever is going on, that exam from your docs is going to be the answer, there are too many variables for any of us here to have a really good reply to this.
