Hi there,

Here's a wonderful selection of quotes organized into very helpful categories:

What a nice way for you to encourage your friend. These are inspiring even for those who aren't facing cancer.

I'm so happy and grateful about your dad's recovery! He is so very blessed to have you as a daughter.

Thanks! She seems to be enjoying my daily thoughts and prayers! I have found some good sites, but always looking for more! I have even cut and pasted some sayings off of T-shirts and the like and sent them in emails. She has a website for family and friends to check in on every day with family pictures, updates on her treatments, and people can leave messages for her, so I put a bible verse or quote on there as well. Any bit of hope she can get is good. She has adrenal cancer that has metastasized to her liver and lungs. So sad. She is only 35, with 3 young children under the age of 10!

So...how are YOU? And your Dad? We have not spoken for awhile...

Ok here goes this is my first time on this site and am not sure I am at the right place to put a post ...I have recently been diagnoised with mouth cancer and am trying to soak it all in...the nurse gave me this site to talk to people who may have either been in my situation or are going through my situation...I am going to have surgery in approximately 4-5 weeks..I know some of what the drs were talking about but not sure of what everything is...I have read a few posts and it gives me some faith cause even though the drs say it is a common proceedure I am not convinced that it will be all run of the mill...I admire all those I have read so far you folks have great strength and hope... I just need some help getting started will answer any questions I just don't know what to write I just know I need to get more info...

Darkeyedlady:

Welcome to OCF. There are lots of people who will help you thru your journey. To get the best responses and most individual attention to your questions and posts, try starting a new thread under Introduce yourself. It will be a help too to add in your profile some medical info about your cancer, that would go in your signature.

Do you know what kind of surgery? Are you having chemo and radiation? Are you being treated in a comprehensive cancer center? You have a great nurse if she referred you here.

Ginny your friends situation is sad, but I join my faith with yours, and know that healings do happen! I'll share one of my favorites with you, Romans 12:12 Rejoice in hopefulness, patience in tribulation, remaining constant in instant prayer!
My dads doing good - doing everything he wants to do, can eat and drink what he wants, and is going to get physical therapy to get more mobility for his mouth. And I'm doing good, my mouth is less sore most days. Thank you for asking! I've missed talking with you and I'm glad your dad is doing good!

Darkeyedlady - You are in the right place!

I'm so sorry your going through this - but we're with you, all the way. What a great nurse you have, she must care a great deal to know about OCF and to have guided you here - that's very encouraging.

I'm glad we found each other on facebook and are friends!

I ought my shirts and other things from Brian Hill, our founder. What he sells for the site isn't junk and It's much better than another shirt or 2 I have. Check it out at the store he has here.

Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.
