Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 378 | Today was Jack's 4th and last cisplatin chemo cycle so I wanted to share that milestone with all of you. He finished radiation 4 weeks ago and is starting to swallow soft foods. We are coming up for air and cautiously optimistic. His first scan will be in August. This forum has been invaluable to helping us cope, know what to expect and how to handle the side effects we encountered. We have not felt that we were alone in all of this.

JoAnne - Caregiver to husband, cancer rt. tonsil, mets to soft palate, BOT, 7 lymph nodes - T3N2BM0, stage 4. Robotic assisted surgery, radical neck dissection 2/06; 30 IMTX treatments and 4 cycles of cisplatin completed June 06.

Retired Dentist, 59 years old at diagnosis. SCC of the left lateral border of the tongue (Stage I). Partial glossectomy and 30 nodes removed, 4/6/05. Nodes all clear. No chemo no radiation 18 year survivor.
