hi everybody,

wanted to thank you all for your answers and support. well, to update you, i was scheduled for a modified radical neck dissection for this coming friday, 9th may. well i got a call from the doctor today that it will not be happening as my insurance is a limited policy and i have already maxed out. they are willing to pay $600 on an estimated hospital bill of $25K.

I have done everything, including speaking with the social worker that had previously helped and all they can do is give me forms for hospital charity. the problem is its based upon some formula dealing with the poverty line. well as soon as i show them my income, that no longer will be possible. cause i make way too much. im trying to reach the hospital myself in order to sign some financial papers promising payment, but i have yet to be able to find the right person to speak with. my doctors office has been leading the charge with the hospital trying to work things out. anyway, thanks for all your ideas. if you have any new ones please contact me.

I am sorry to hear about your problems. I too will be scheduled for surgery. I only have medicare and am wondering how I will fair finacially or if I will be turned down because of lack of money to pay. M previous husband had lung cancer and his bills were over omillion dollars. Luckily, his insurance paid it all. I am not that lucky. Good luck and God Bless you.
