Today they told Dan to skip tomorrow because of the side effects, but they still mentioned 39 treatments. It didn't ocurr to me until just now that I guess either we just lose that one or we aren't finished on the day we originally thought.

Unless something else intervenes or Dan's health prevents it, they will make up the appts at the end. Bill's hospitalization delayed the finish of his total rads by three days...he made it up at the end. Remember the goal is a certain total amount of gys.

It was probably overkill but I am still glad we did it. This also coincided with my Erbitux adventure (anaphylactic shock). There were then 8 days without any rads (recalculation and weekends) and then it continued for the full course. M

There were an additional 3-5 times that the machine was down. The RO's prefer it when you bulldoze through treatment but some here have been given a small respite from time to time to recover from side effects (which vary widely).

The machine actuallly broke down in the middle of my treatment. All these missed days were added on at the end.

I was so weak I didn't even open my eyes but they didn't let me miss one Tx. I was released at 5 pm that same day and told to eat and drink properly or I would be back.

I figured it was based on total and that we would make it up, but I forgot to ask the doctor and wanted to know. First we had to change our end date because it was going to be 35 and not 39 and now we are changing it again. I think we will forget the whole end date and just go with the counting down
