I too tuffed it out without a PEG. It wasn't easy and I lost over 60 lbs. There are a very small group of here who have done it. Would I do it again? Probably. Things are pretty normal now...

I too didn't have a Peg and I lost about 30% of my body weight and I also would choose the same path if I had to do it over again for the first time. I am also back to almost pre Tx normal and I definitely agree with Gary....eat all your favorite fatty horribly not good for you foods starting now and quit when you will have to during the throws of Tx.
You will be glad you found this site as it will prove as valuable as anything in your arsenal. Don't hesitate to ask or complain about anything. Now go order a large meat pan pizza and eat every slice.

Based on my experience I offer the following story and advice.
A week or so after starting treatment I simply could not eat "normal" food anymore. It was absolutely repulsive to me.
But I knew how many calories I needed to hold my weight - about 2700/day.
I found a simple, bland meal that I could tolerate three times a day: egg-beater omelet with cheese, two Boost Plus, and tea with honey. I used the magic mouthwash before eating.
I lost about 5 lb.
I also did light exercises every morning, as well as stretching my neck and jaw daily.
Figure out the calories, keep it simple, and good luck!
Best wishes,
Chris
