It is a long lonely road that you go through alone. Even though there are family and friends around, it is still you and you alone who goes down that long lonely road to the operating room with your surgeon and your God. It is scarey and invasive. Every operation is important but when it is yours, it is even more so. The next time someone you love is heading for surgery, think about what may be going through their head while they are being wheeled down the corridor....and remember to pray a little harder for a wonderful outcome..... | | |

It was two days after I'd finished my radiation treatments. Their wise words were a great comfort to me then and reamin so now.
Here's a brief quote from Dana:
"Be brave. Be open-minded. Be kind. Be forgiving. Be generous. Be optimistic. Be grateful for the many unexpected lessons you will learn. Find the joy inside the hardship. It

It is hard to believe that she and Christopher are both gone. I read of the passing of Jack Wild, British Actor, last week at age 53. I read a while back he had oral cancer and had been left mute from it. Very sad. May they all rest in peace. Carol
I also read that Jack Wild, British actor, died at age 53 from complications due to tongue cancer
Diagnosed May 2002 with Stage IV tongue cancer, two lymph nodes positive. Surgery to remove 1/2 tongue, neck dissection, 35 radiation treatments. 11/2007, diagnosed with cancer of soft palate, surgery 12/14/07, jaw split. 3/24/10, cancer on tongue behind flap, need petscan, surgery scheduled 4/16/10 ---update passed away 8-27-11---
