Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

If you can't get to a computer, do you think maybe your granddaughter could post a blurp for us to let us know how you are doing? Didn't she do that once before? Hang in there, hopefuly this will all be over soon. So glad the radiation is done! My Dad's last treatment is Tuesday! (Although he has now lost about 48 pounds!!!  )
Dad: Age 65 Heavy smoker/drinker. Biopsy-No surgery. Cancer base of tongue/throat. "Invasive Squamous Carcinoma RRT" --Beginning 1/9/08: IMRT treatments (5X/wk),chemo pills (4/day) and Chemo IV (once/wk) PEG tube inserted 1/25/08. Treatments ended 2/26/08

Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 5,260 | Larrysdaughter, I didn't 48-lbs but have lost 44. LOL I wonder if your dad feels skinny like I do. I don't even know the guy in the mirror looking back at me. I think they gave me some extra, " Let's Knock Him Out " meds today. I can't seem to keep my eyes open. In fact, I'm going to go lay in bed and hope either the pain lets up or I go to sleep.
