I am receiving it now upon request thanks to this website. While I have had a fairly easy recovery my neck mobility is impaired and at times quite painful. I wish I had known to request PT sooner. Lisa, I would also like to know the massage technique you are receiving as I am not getting lymphatic massage--just more of a straight-forward neck PT. I don't think my PT ever had a cancer patient.
Left tonsil SCC, HPV+. T2N0M0. Tonsillectomy 3-07, bilateral radiation, cisplatin 3x, Tx completed 6-06. Clear PET 4-01-2008. Thyroidectomy 5-9-08, resulting in permanent surgically-induced hypoparathyroidism and adrenal problems. Bummer. | | | | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 16 Member | Member Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 16 | Thankfully, it's not an actual massage (my insurance doesn't cover massages). It's called manual therapy/lymphatic drainage. It doesn't even feel like a massage. It's actually a very light motion over the lymphatic areas. Then there's the myofascial stretching....now that's much more than a light motion.

She said that, until recently, she had only done lymphatic drainage on arms and legs. But she's had a few head and neck patients recently due to, I suppose, an increase in head and neck cancer. The head and neck technique is actually fairly new to her, but she does one heck of a job, and my neck circumference was down about a half inch in just 2 weeks!!!

No problamo, you 2 just tape a session and provide us a link. Mood lighting, erotic music and a nurses uniform works for me.
