You have given me relief by answering my questions! I am overwhelmed by the information. But, I'm reading, I'm reading! Thanks everyone!


Age 47, Right tonsil removed 1/18/08, large mass in right side of neck. Both have been diagnosed SCC Stage IV, on 1/24/08. Right radical neck dissection and left tonsil removal 2/8/08

Glad to hear that you are getting into the swing of things here... and that you are reading, reading, reading. You will find that OCF will be a great ally in your fight with this disease.

Overwhelm...yeah, get used to that feeling...it will be everpresent for a bit until you get thru this diagnostic part and get started with treatment.

Ron, do you have a good support system...someone that can be your caregiver during the next few months?? I think that it will be truly important to have someone help you during the last several weeks of treatment and for about three weeks after.

Keep checking in as you wade thru your treatment options...we are here for you...

DIAGNOSIS: 6/26/07 SCC right tonsil/BOT T4N0M0
TREATMENT START: 8/9/07 cisplatin/taxol X 7..IMRT twice daily X 31.5.
TREATMENT END: 10/1/07
PEG OUT: 1/08
PORT OUT: 4/09
FOLLOWUP: Now only annual exams. ALL CLEAR!
