Turns out it is a portion of the reconstruction flap they did to "try" to rebuild the floor of his mouth and his tongue. Evidently the portion they put way down into the floor of the mouth has new tissue grown over it. The graft itself appears to the atrophying which they are not concerned about at this point. So the good news is he doesn't appear to have a recurrance! Now I can breathe. Also, I showed him the info on lymphedema and the massage techniques. Very useful and insightful info from everyone. Thank you so much. Enjoy the day. | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 1,140 Likes: 1 Patient Advocate (1000+ posts) | Patient Advocate (1000+ posts) Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 1,140 Likes: 1 | Thank you, lakehouse, for posting your good news. We are all buoyed by things that turn out well. And I am sure we all understand about breathing again (grin). Great news and I am very happy for both of you.
