I haven't posted in quite a while, but I wanted to share my mom's good report. She had her 4 month post treatment check-up and scans the week before Christmas. Everything came back clear!! The best part is that her life and spirits are really getting back to normal. Yes, she is still having some of the typical issues with dry mouth and neck stiffness, but she is not letting them get her down. She is thanking God for His incredible grace to get her through this horrible ordeal, and she is getting back to being an active wife, mother, Grandma, and Sunday School teacher. She even sang with her singing group at church recently (something she thought might never happen again, since there were weeks she could barely speak, much less sing!)
We had a wonderful Christmas, and Mom even managed to eat most of the holiday meal, since we kept her limitations in mind while cooking! Actually, she cooked most of it herself. She and my Dad also went with my family on a fabulous trip to Disney World in November. Thanks to those of you who encouraged me to include her when I made the reservations- she had a wonderful time, and we made so many memories we'll never forget! The restaurants and chefs were so accomodating there- I highly reccomend it!
Well, I'll stop going on and on. I just wanted everyone here to know how valuable your support and encouragement has been to my family. Thank you for answering my questions, and for always giving a positive word! This board has truly been a blessing. I'll continue to check in, and I look forward to hearing the positive reports of many others in the days to come.
Thanks to all, Laura | | |

My older girls met your mom at the IHOP, they couldn't believe it when she said she knew me. They had heard me talk about Marie and they said she looked awesome. I have thought of your mom SO many times and asked Dr. K about her at my last visit. He said she was great! I wish I had visited more and hope to see all of you again, take care. Minnie

As you have found, perhaps the most important thing for each of us to remember every day is MAKE THE MEMORIES! I am really glad to hear of such a joyous Christmas for you and your family and especially your mother. God is good...all the time.
