Your thoughts and prayers were felt yesterday. Knowing that no matter what RO said, that I had my family here at the OCF kept me grounded and strong. Thank you.
The appt was fantastic! He is thrilled with her progress, said her tongue, which looks like a volcano erupted, was in advanced healing stages, enough so that it wouldn't be out of the question to do a baseline MRI at this point. He did warn of false positives, but felt ok ordering test all the same.
He told her to go on her vacation, did I tell you that my dad booked a trip for them 4 months ago? They are going to Mexico with friends Feb 1st - 8th.
The visit was great. Need to stop listening to family and well meaning friends....told mom I was going back on patrol--no negative allowed in her vicinity.
Thank you all for your love and support.

Anne-Marie....(always think of "That Girl" when I type your name!)
I feel so wonderful today smile
Mom is more like herself, even while enduring her pain.
For me, I am going to call Tony, my hairdresser-haven't had my hair done since last spring, I think. My treat to me!!
Thank you again.

Go have a general check-up with your GP as well, then get some acrylic nails! And when your mom's in Mexico, you and Ed go out for a lovely meal together and get your breath back!
So glad your mom is also feeling better today

That's great news Donna! I am happy for both you and Rose.

I remember the first time I got my hair done after taking care of Dan around the clock. I was a mess, not sure who looked worse, him or I.

I made a day of it and went to Chicago with a girlfriend. We talked and and window shopped and got our haircuts. It was wonderful. And, it really boosted Dan's spirits to see me gain some independence back as he didn't like being the person in need all of the time.

So, I hope you call Tony today and treat yourself to some pampering. smile

I'm so happy your mom will be able to go to Mexico. I'm sure that will do much for her spirits as well.

It's good to hear good news on here. I feel as if you all deserve a break and enjoy your time getting a little R&R. That sounds like a trip well planned.

Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.
