Your Uncle is doing well being able to talk after 2 weeks, when I had my graft they kept me nil my mouth for 4 weeks I presume to let all the healing take place, so I hope that he will keep progressing, I didn't have radiation but I understand that most who have done so have been glad of the feeding tube, not only for food but to keep hydrated. Hopefully after the holiday someone will be able to help you more.. Sunshine.. love and hugs Helen

Congratulations Dave

This was a very special Thanksgiving for me, being my first as a survivor. I was visiting my kids and grandkids all weekend. What fun it was.
I too, am especially thankful for all of your help during my early stages of recovery.
Danny and Mark, I thought you were the only inhabitants of your states. Are there really more people there?

Are you kidding? these are Territories not states! I'm not really here either! But why would I move to the land of cheeseheads? (Their football team reminds me of Limburger)
I am proud to say that I know what headcheese is. Thanks to my heritage, I know what lutefisk tastes like too!

As an Australian, I know that Thanksgiving is important to Americans and may be a more important family celebration than Christmas.
Historically, what are you celebrating and is there a significance in the date?
Love from Helen

Ignore the advertising. http://www.plimoth.org/visit/what/ http://wilstar.com/holidays/thankstr.htm Besides the sentiment it is a good excuse to pig out and put up with in-laws.

Good on George Washington for declaring the celebration in the first place. You certainly have much to be thankful for. I have tasted pumpkin pie (before OC). DEElicious. Helen

However, after the taste buds returned (post-radiation), I decided I do like it now, and I made a point of baking one this year.
