I'm 5 months post tx. My facial hair returned about 2 1/2 months ago and I grew a full goat-tee (sp?). Anyway I shaved it off 2 weeks ago and noticed this week that my chin is not regroing in the center and I have the sparse, patchy black hairs like I did when it all started to grow back. It's the same on my upper lip. I asked my Ro yesterday and he was a bit puzzled also. Did anyone have this happen for them? Boy I hope mostly the men reply. Ha Ha.

BUT i lost all my armpit hair quite early on from chemo. It grew back the same as before, but as you did, i shaved it. & now it grows back sparse & patchy. Also, i lost nearly all of my eye lashes, they grew back, but they've started to fall out again. I know another lady that lost alot of hair after chemo, and she now is also loosing her chemo hair. So at least we're not alone!

You should be having that checked anyway, but especially if you are having other hypothyroid symptoms such as fatigue or feeling fuzzy-headed I would ask to be tested.

I don't seem to be fatigued but I see my MO Monday so I will be sure and ask her about checking it just to be sure. Thanks Chelle. Ironically I was trying to be silly with the whole woman/ beard thing and so far only you two wonderful ladies posted. This could really get interesting. Ha Ha. Thanks again, I have been perplexed by this for a few days especially when I showed my RO and he didn't have an answer. Lee

After, the Mo said the RX would not let the hair grow back anyway. Some people do and some do not. I guess it

It took about 6 months for it to "stabilize". Most of the hair on my head came back, finer than before. My facial hair didn't expect for my moustache and a few small patches on my cheeks. Intersting thing; my moustache was very "salt and pepper" colored pre-treatment...now the hair on the radiation side is as black as it was when I was 20 years old!
My wife called me "two-tone" for a while...she's over that now, thank goodness. Wayne
