The spasms in my neck have gotten so bad that I thought I would ask for some help.

If you put your hand on the side of my neck you can feel the muscles firing off. It also locks up so tight I can barely move my neck.

It is starting to cause ear and jaw pain which we all know can be a bad thing. I dont suspect anything "bad" but I was wondering if anyone else is having some of the same issues and what they had done to eleviate. My doctor is telling my Botox. Anybody try it?

Thanks,
-rh

Hey Robr

I just e-mailed you 2 threads to read. You might also try using the 2 search engines here. One at the top and one at the bottom of each page.

I hope this will help. Check your E-mail. Best Wishes. Petey

This sort of after effect is quite common i think, depending on which muscles and nerves you had removed or were damaged during you surgery.Rob had his sterno mastoid muscle removed but they managed to preserve his shoulder muscle, but even so at 5 weeks post tx he started with terrible neck stiffness and shoulder pain, and it got much worse if he got a draught or was out in the wind or the cold. Our GP said it was unlikely the cancer pain meds would help and suggested anti imflammatories and soluble paracetamol.I also rubbed his neck and shoulders with topical anti-imflammatory cream.I was always telling hold his neck stiff as this increased muscle spasm. So bet suggestion i can come up with is heat, exersise and pain meds.
