Hi to all!

I was just wondering if any of you had been prescribed sucralfate for mouth ulcers? I've read up on this and it seems that there is no "proof" of this being a relief, but Penny's Dr. prescribed this for her as her mouth is still in extreme pain 3 weeks post treatment. In fact she had said it's the worst pain yet since the whole ugly process began. She feels this new drug has been of some help to her - so it may be worth mentioning to your Dr's if any of you are in the same boat with these incessant ulcers. From what I understand this is usually prescribed for intestinal ulcers, but some times is offerred for help with the mouth. My sister is 3-4 weeks out and we are now just in the dreadful waiting and playing it day by day.

Again this site is a resouce I could not have gone without and I know that when Penny is up to it she will have much to offer. THANK YOU ALL!

Sarah

Hello; I was perscribed sucralfate 1 week after radiation ended. I used it for 6 weeks and it seemed to help. Mouth is much better now.

I also used sulcrafate, I don't know if it helped or not but it seemed to provide some relief.
