It is not often that I start a post around here but I have a question.

Is it common for little white spots to appear inside the mouth after tx?

Should this be a concern?

Harry noticed a couple and came over tonight and I looked and found 3 spots but I can't tell if they are something normal or something to be concerned about.

He was at the dentist for a thorough check up in the past month, visited the MO and the ENT and was told all is well. He noticed these spots yesterday because he was checking something else.

Any ideas? confused

Thanks!!
Cindy confused

Hi Cindy,
For me, I had numerous white spots in my mouth, along the tongue, near the throat, etc. I couldn't see myself clearly but my sister-in-law told me that there should be over ten. They took some time to disappear gradually. My oncologist told me that it was a normal side effects of radiation and I didn't worry about it. I don't know if mine is similar to Harry's and to play safe, why not consult your doctor?

Hi Cindy,

Do not wait see a Dr. or Dentist. It could be fungi infection! Thrush. Mine went undetected for a while and it hurts. If his mouths starts to sting when he eats it could be that.

Get some meds. and get it under control

Take care.
Diane
