My Grandpa went that way - I couldn't be there but the rest of the family was and I was glad for that. He had pancreatic (sp) cancer. | | |

You miss David and I don't blame you for the tears. I smiled though, when I read the "thumbs up" signal from above. God Bless you, you were an awesome caregiver. Love, Carol

In honor of his special day my family took his wife and little girl fishing, enjoyed a cookout and visited his grave afterwards. His wife and little girl made a birthday cake and the little one blew out the candles. His little girl found a baby horned toad - probably 1 1/4 inches long - just as we stepped out of the vehicle. She loves horned toads. I like to think her Daddy scurred him over there for her to find. My sister's girls planted a rose bush and made birthday cards, tied them to a balloon and sent them to heaven. We are still celebrating David, still loving him and still missing him. I know this message has no question or valuable information, I just wanted to share it with you, my friends. May this find you all in good health, Tonya

Thanks for sharing Davids birthday with us. It was touching to me. I loved the ballons and cards sent to heaven. May god bless you and your family. You set the bar quite high for caregivers. Grieve as long as you want. That part is different for each person. Only you know when it's time to move on and this doesn't mean forgrtting david. He will always be in your heart as well as ours.
Love Ya, Danny Boy

Your post does have valuable information. It helps people to know that, painful though it may be, life does go on. Sharing the way that you and your family have chosen to remember David and honor his life is very much needed and appreciated on this forum. Perhaps it can help put into perspective what is important and what is not. You may have missed the recent squabbles (actually I missed most of it, but I did come back to the forum in time to catch the tail end of it), but posts like yours are important. Thank you so much for sharing. Rainbows & hugs, Rosie
