I am almost 4 months post treatment (ended 3/15). Everything has been good (blood counts, scans, etc)and I feel real good with my recovery so far. But I've been noticing this swelling (not a lump) under my chin to my adams apple. Some days it not that bad, other days, it gets very noticeable. It is right in the zone where I had radiation.
My ENT did examine it (on a "not so bad" day), and said it was a side effect from the radiation. I see my radiologist on the 17th and my oncologist on the 26th. My thinking is this is a side effect too.
Has anyone else experienced something like this? Does it go away eventually? Any and all info will be appreciated.
Mike

Your nodes need to find "new" pathways for drainage. Your doctor can recomend a massage therapist for just such a thing.
Freaked me out a little too. Once they find the new pathways, your good to go. I still get a little tiny bit at my adams apple. But I massage it and poof its gone.
God Bless.

I too had swelling. None lately, but I had it there for a while. I have begun to think, that if it is soft and liquidy (? new word?), I don't worry. My ENT said they are looking for peas. Nodules that are very noticeable.
When you have lymph nodes removed, the liquid must go somewhre and cannot always find a quick avenue.

Steve
