My dad has been a trouper and I must say that each of you have been. My dad received a cat scan about 1 1/2 weeks ago and went to doctor yesterday for results. His face was a bit swollen from Friday (called dr. and said as long as no fever its ok). So, at the doctor yesterday said the scan came our clear. (Dad is about one month post treatment). But, doctor was concerned on a lump in the same area where the first tumor was. He explained it was a hard mass and did a bioposy immediately. My dad will get the results next Friday. Doctor also said, if he needs to get surgury done again, then he will need to have someone come and help him because he wasnt quit sure how he would do it.

EKKKK....

Could a tumor grow back within 2 weeks from cat scan? Could all the pain and hurt from treatment been not worth it? Is this nightmare happening again?

Has this happened to any of you? Please help.

My brother's came back in three weeks following surgery. They didn't do a cat scan for another month, but his pain started again after three weeks and I know in my heart that the pain was a sign of the cancer because it was not "normal" for it to come back like it did. I wish I had more answers for you, but I do agree that your father will need help. These surgeries are tramatic both physically and emotionally and I can't imagine someone going through it alone. I'm sure it can be done, but not if it is in anyway avoidable.

Cindy, my husband's 2nd cancer appeared within 4 months of finishing radiation. It probably was there all along, but not picked up on the CT scan. It is very scary. Amy

Cindy, in contrast to the two previous posts, this cancer usually does not grow quickly. Please do your best to put aside the fear and wait until the tests are done and the resuts are in. Many many false scares happen too. Try not to let fear rule your mind.
