I wanted to pass on a remedy to help keep bowels moving for people who are taking meds that can cause constipation.
Mix together:
1/2 cup applesauce 2 tablespoons bran 6 ounces of prune juice
Store mixture in refrigerator.
Eat 2 tablespoons each day. The bran softens and almost dissolves from the applesauce and juice and is not difficult to swallow. My husband put it into his hot cereal in the morning or it can be eaten directly from a spoon.
An important thing to remember is that this is a preventative remedy so you want to take this every day and don't stop until you stop the meds.
Hope this is of help to someone!

Such a simple solution. I wish I had known this, but it should held many current patients. My best wishes to you and your husband. I just passed the four year mark and feel terrific, so keep in mind that as difficult as the recovery period can be, it WILL get better. | | |

When John can swallow again, it can be eaten with hot cereal or any other soft foods. I have even eaten it directly from a spoon.
The bran breaks down so it easily swallowed (by someone who is able to swallow)
