Pete will be having his TWO YEAR from finish of treatment scan tomorrow. This has been the magic number for me. I have always told myself, if we can just make the 2 year mark, the odds go WAY up! He and I have such different personalities, he is the eternal optimist, " I don`t know what you`re worrying about Marica , it is not coming back". I on the other hand am a basket case until we get the results. Of course it has to be a Thursday, near the end of the week. They better have these results in Friday or I won`t be responsible for my frame of mind over the week-end.
This may be the only time in our marriage when I am willing to let him be 100% right [I] I will, of course, post when we get the results.
Cheers Marica

Good vibes and prayers. All will be good.

I am sending very specific wishes out into the unoverse that Pete is 100% right, you are 100% wrong and you find it out before the weekend arrives and you have a fantastic weekend!
Congratulations on reaching that two year mark. I know that if I gdt there cancer free it will be a big marker for me too although my husband will think everything is long over by then.

If his regular ENT exams have all been good then this is merely a formality.
On the PET scan, the results are almost instantaneous - just look for the black spots (indicating irregular glucous uptake)- ignoring the bladder of course. They still require interpretation by the radiologist.

You and Pete are very special people. You were so kind to me when my husband Doug was recently diagnosed with stage IV SCC base of tongue. I took your advice and learned to appreciate one day at a time. He had his chemo and radiation from May to June of this year and returned to work July 3rd. I know that he has alot of follow up and treatment, but we can get through anything together now and as long as we are together that is the important part. Anyway, I want to thank you and give you all my love and support for wonderful results. Please keep us posted. Regards, Virginia Caregiver to Doug T4N2cM0

You are all so kind. Pete has his scan today and had a major bout of vertigo during it , poor thing. He is still feeling kind of sickly. I will let you all know the results asap.
Thank`s again.
Cheers Marica
