Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 3,552 | Yep - had fluid buildup show up on a bunch of MRI's. No big deal. The eustacian tubes probably got fried and need to regenerate. Is is cold & flu season - even cancer patients get these things (although a lot more unsettling). Colds also last a lot longer because of the compromised immune system. I have had a mild one that is going on 3 weeks now and is finally getting a little better. I also have periodic hoarseness from time to time for a variety of reasons - mouth breathing at night, too much salt, hence exacerbated dry mouth, colds, etc. The physical exam is the gold standard, not the scans. If the ENT is happy then you should be just fine. It's really easy to let your fear run wild in the early post Tx.
