Some blood is still present in the saliva as well. I would like to know what others experience has been with similar cancer and how long before it goes away. I can eat real food, but it still must be the mushy stuff as it is still difficult to swallow. Your comments are appreciated. Happy Christmas to all.

That was pretty much my experience also. They say 1 month of recovery for each week of radiation. Patience

I found if the saliva was frustrating enough, I rinsed with a solution of water, salt and baking soda. It cleared up the mouth for a little bit of relief. Otherwise it's "patience," like Gary said.

Rinse, rinse, rinse. I used the same formula as David, not to mention the ever present bottle of regular water.
Happy Christmas to you and yours, also.

I don't recall exactly how long mine lasted but it was 2-3 months so you should see improvement shortly.
