Mark, 21 Year survivor, SCC right tonsil, 3 nodes positive, one with extra-capsular spread. I never asked what stage (would have scared me anyway) Right side tonsillectomy, radical neck dissection right side, maximum radiation to both sides, no chemo, no PEG, age 40 when diagnosed.

I could not eat mashed potatoes because they burned my throat.  Same for yogurt.  I could drink Dr Pepper (until my blood sugar hit 300      ) and eat spaghetti sauces.  I thought it should be the exact opposite. By the way, I can't imagine even opening a can of Spaghetti-O's so your sister must be doing better.     Ed
