Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 162 | Reading about Dan's results makes this post that much harder. But I know from the experience of reading other posts on this forum that good news is important and necessary. While I'm grateful that I can report good news, I just wish it was germane to all of us.
I had follow up appointments at M. D. Anderson Wednesday and Thursday last week. These included meetings with my medical and radiation oncologists as well as a fresh chest xray and CT scan. The imaging was ordered as part of the post-treatment study in which I'm a participant.

Both docs did a thorough physical exam of my mouth, thoat, base of tongue and neck, with the radiation oncologist scoping me as well (which hurt like hell -- the first time being scoped ever hurt and I don't know why). The docs were very happy with my progress and healing. They say I'm doing well. I don't remember all of the radiologist's report from the scans, as it was read to me over the cell-phone as I was driving home by the research nurse, but I do remember the phrase "complete response." The nurse said the results were very good.

So, friends, I'm happy and thankful to say I'm doing well -- so far so good.

 -Brett

Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 1,627 | Way to go Brett! This board has to have a balance to it and if the good news is hidden then that balance will be gone. I wouldn't want to stay on the boards at all if it were all bad news. This past few days has made me question being a part of the board to be honest, the results of some of our tests has me sad and scared. But, I need the people on here so here I am.Minnie
