I just finished up with 36 radiation treatments and 7 weeks of chemo for SCC stage 4 with no primary. Radiation was to destroy positive lymph node near collarbone. Tommorrow I will get a ct scan of neck and lungs. Also scheduleing a pet scan. This is my second time battling SCC. The lymph nodes, there was more than one, seem to be destroyed and can't feel them anymore. They given me a very poor prognosis. I will not accept that nor agree with them. By God's grace and mercy I believe and recieve complete and total healing from this curse. I know the battle will be mostly in my mind and am depending on Him to strenghten me and be here in times of doubt.

I want to thank all those who have posted on this website on all the topics. I have learned a lot and have found much encouragement from what I have read. I know that there are many here who have gotten negative reports and have proven them wrong. I also know there are many who have not. My heart goes out to them.

I will continue to post as the recovery process continues and keep everyone updated.

Thank you Brian for your time and energy and when possible for me I will contribute.

Hello BRM1949,

This is your friend Daniel Bogan . What are they telling you after your treatment? How did you notice you had a reoccurance? Did you have IMRT or Field radiation? I wanted to tell you I really like your attitude about beating your cancer. You can survive this dreadful cancer!!!!! Remember I was also born in 1949 but in November. You are slightly older than I but we share this right side tonsil cancer. I am 8 weeks post treatment and had my first MRI on Dec 24th. I go see the Rad guy on Jan 6th. My ENT saw me in mid December and scoped me through my nose and said everything looked good. I will be praying & pulling for you to beat this diaease as I pull for everyone else on this forum including me!!!! Take Care, Daniel

While it will have to be checked out, do not be surprised if your PET shows activity in your upper lobe of the lung on the radiated side. It may just be very active celluar metabolism from the radiation that was so close to it. So if you hear this don't let your heart sink yet. This is really commmon... but like I said will still need to be explored further.
