my mom had the big operation (removel of the tonge,jaw, skin,floor of mouth)we tought her "new" skin and jaw took. However,we just found out that her skin was not taking 2 weeeks later.She went back to the hosptial on Tuesday to start HBO, which is an oxyen chamber they put you in to help you blood flow better. Well 2 days later, her skin fell off, it had been dead and they could not save it. What happens if the bone is dead as well???????????? HELP ANYONE!!!!

Hi Stacy, I had the whole big thing done too......I guess they could possibly try another bone graft, mine came from leg............Let us know how she`s doing..........you can email us at [email protected]

Hi, We talked by E-mail, but i did not realize your Mom is in the hospital. They will try to save the bone, but if that failed also it will be removed, she will go back to surgery. They cannot put a new jaw bone in immediately, I have a metal, actually titanium jaw bone, I eat anything I want and it moves as good as my old real one. The choice was mine. I am giving up more flesh, but no more bones. How long before this failed after surgery?gnelson
