Any advise about the fear that if you lost your job, and therefore your health benefits, that you will not be able to have medical insurance to assist in the treatment of your cancer any more because of the prexisting condition.

Hence, if you loss your job you get No health care !!!!!

Hence, you must stay at your job and can not move because you will have no health care???

There is help if this occurs. I need to review the requirements and qualifications for AZ Medicaid (which I will do for you) but also most states have funds for situations like this (I woll get sepecifics for AZ for you)and most hospitals are equipped to deal with this in a number of fashions. You will not be refused treatment. Many will give discounts, free treatment, payment plans, write off balances, etc. Additionally, government facilties like county hospitals and academic health facilites are even more forgiving. There are also a number of resources to cover expenses in a scenario like this. Again, I will provide much more detail shortly for you. But please understand...there is help!

Below is a link to a document on the AHCCCS (AZ Medicaid) site that details the monthly income limits in order to be eligible for AZ Medicaid. This might apply in the event that you became unemployed.

If you are considering changing jobs and are concerned about pre-existing condition exclusions, you should consider COBRA coverage with your former employer and try to negotiation an increase in salary with your new employer to cover the cost rather than insuring yourself through them. The new employer is not under any obligation to do so however. Also please keep in mind that COBRA coverage is valid for a specifica period of time only (it is temporary coverage). Generally, you should continue your health coverage under COBRA if you...
> have had comprehensive benefits and don't mind paying more for them
>want continual, guaranteed coverage at a higher cost
>have had recent health problems
>have had ongoing health problems
>are taking expensive medications
>have been declined for private insurance recently
>have a history of medical problems
>have had an accident within the 60 day window of enrollment
>are pregnant or planning to get that way
>got a job and your new employer does not offer a health plan

If you are married, you may want to look into jumping over to your spouse's insurance (if applicable) before changing jobs. Sometimes pre-existing conditions are nto a factor here.
