Since then, I have been reading and reading all old posts and discovering some wonderful advice, information, and just uplifting feelings from people who have been through what my dad is going through right now. As I did internet searches, I found it difficult to find much info. about SCC-- with the exception of the same description/statistics that show up on almost every cancer site. I, as many state, had never heard of SCC before embarking on this journey with my dad. I would love to raise awareness and spark more attention towards a cure. I have read about the walk in Virginia and it sounds great! I would love to start something similar here in Michigan, but I know that with young children I can't go it alone. Is there anyone on the forum that is in Michigan or Northern Ohio that may be interested in doing this with me? Thanks!

All the reports are not in as of yet, they are telling her it is a non typical cancer. I would be more than willing to help start any kind of money raising event. Just let me know. Shirley | | |

I suggest a first step would be to talk with Minnie Ashworth and discuss what is going on in VA. She is mid effort on her walk and will be able to give you valuable insights about the process. These events are major awareness builders, which is what this cancer needs, but they also take the dedication and a lot of hard work over months of preparation to come off well. Anyone who wishes to take a shot at an event like this, please contact me directly and let me talk you though all the steps before you decide this is for you. 6 months lead-time to pull it off is also a requirement.
