Hi everyone
My hospital stated that I recovered from my surgery so well because I was the best informed patient that they had ever had on the ward.. So well done, Brian, OCF, all of you who helped me to get the right information (and when to ask the right questions)...
Lets all try to help ensure that everyone who travels this road is as informed as we can make them.
Sunshine... love and hugs
Helen

Hi Helen

I'm so pleased that you are recovering well.

I agree about being well-informed, I believe it helped reduce my fear so that I felt confident and calm. It must have been very difficult for patients in treatment before the internet.

Love from Helen cool

Hi Helen and Helen!
I saw my doctor today and he is always so impressed with my knowledge and the questions I ask. Not just the medical ones but the emotional side of having cancer. He asked today if I would head up a support group for this area if he provided the patients. He is very impressed with what the Oral Cancer Foundation, headed by our main man Brian, has done so far. I talk more about the foundation then I do about myself at our appointments, lol.
Love,
Minnie

Hello all!
Have been passing around the OCF info cards to hospitals and cancer centers in the Seattle area and all of the docs/nurses/techs that see the site are impressed! Informed consent is a big buzz word for the docs and they really see the value of having the patients and family informed on the many issues that come with this disease. And I can't even begin to express to them the benefits of the support group!!! The hit rate alone on this web site amazes me. Wow, if we could just get more people to join up so the cards can be printed on early detection for dentist's offices just think who could be helped!! Hmmmm, maybe we'll all hit it big in Vegas!! - Kris
