If you're in the Houston area, I have just had my peg tube removed & no longer need the left over feeding bags and cases of Carnation VHC. As Linda West from this site helped me when I was having trouble getting supplies, we did notice that there are a lot of people on here that don't have insurance or financial aid...to you, these supplies are free for the asking!

Pay It Forward, Jim

HD,

I am a little past 4 months post Tx and I still drink the VHC to supplement my daily calories. I wouldn't be so quick to throw that stuff away.

Thanks everyone! I've never been a big milk or vanilla fan, so drinking the vhc wouldn't work for me....wish they made it in chocolate (or maybe chinese buffet flavored...lol). Haven't had a lot of response to this ad yet, & it was removed from the After Treatment section....anyone know where I might go to donate this stuff to someone that needs it?

We gave our left over supplements back to our dietician at the hospital. When we first started, she gave us a case. She passes them on to new patients or patients who have been hospitalized and have run out.

If there is a hospice near you, you might consider donating your supplies there. Many hospice patients end up on a G tube or having to have a liquid diet and often it is not covered by insurance.

I know of two or three hospices in Houston and my friend's wife runs one of them. Email me and I will get you in touch with her if you want.

I remember giving away boxes of feeding tubes that I no longer needed to a friend of mine whose daughter had gone into a coma and could use them.

Harleydude;
My chemo nurses always keep samples on hand and I asked them if they would be interested in my "leftovers" (all sealed and everything of course) and they said sure. (I can't handle the stuff either so someone else can get some good out of it) If Danny G.'s suggestion doesn't work out this might be an option for you.

Hi, Harleydude,After the 1st peg was removed, we gave the extra cases back to John's surgeon to distribute to patients without insurance. Also, nursing homes in many areas will take them. Amy
