I just wanted to add a note- Penny was vomitting and quite sick last week which luckily has not been the case during her treatment. Upon telling her Dr. she had ceased using the Fetanol (sp?) patch 125 Dosage-. Penny had stopped since she felt she was very foggy and didn't have too many things to mark her days and so she thought it may be better without the pain med's. The Dr. asked if she had any withdrawal sympton such as nausea and others. A lightbulb went off- it seems Penny had removed the patch 24 hours prior to her vomitting problem. Aaa Haaa! By george the vomitting they say most likely was from withdrawal. It stinks because Pen tossed up all her IV fluids she had taken in that day- and with weighing in at a mere 117 that stunk! So she knows the lesson learned is to ask your Dr. prior to changing any of your pain medication. I hope this is helpful to somebody. Personally I tell her she should take the med's but she has to do what she has to do. I can't and shouldn't tell her anything. By the way the gathering outside her grocery store went well today- emotionally draining but good, so many people touched by this nasty body trespasser!

I gradually went from 75 to 50 to 25 to nothing. Even then I felt a little sluggish and depressed for a few days after getting off of the patches. I think that it is quite dangerous to make radical changes in pain killing medications without proper medical direction. Thanks for the message.
