For the past week or so they have been telling me my blood pressure is low. Usually my blood pressure ran 90s/60s. Lately it has been running 80s/50s. Today it was 88/45. After I got fluids it was 88/57. They said that I should drink more water and eat more. I drink about 48 to 64ozs of water a day and my eating can improve and will since I just got the Carnation VHC 560 calorie drink. I think the load blood pressure is caused by the pain meds I'm on, fet patch and morphine.

Low volume would be a factor as well.

The high calorie drink should help. Good luck. Regards JoAnne

He has been cautioned over and over to stay WELL hydrated! On bad days, Gatoraid helped get him balanced on electrolytes.[and to try to keep nutrition at adequate levels]Also, the low blood pressure caused him to be dizzy and he fell alot upon standing until he learned to sit up-then count to 15 before standing. He is still having trouble with the dizzy spells on occasion, but does not fall any more. You really need to take good care of yourself during this. Every thing you can get into your system helps. Sometimes I get 2000ML depending on my pressure, how I feel and bloodwork results. I guess I have to drink more water.

That's great that you are getting the IV fluids, it really helped Jack when he was getting his chemo/radiation. It can't hurt to drink more water, it helps flush everything out of your system. Sounds like you're doing okay and what you are experiencing is par for the course.
Hang in there. JoAnne

Now to choke down all my meds...emend, zofran, senokot, docusate, lactulose, and morphine sulphate. I'm not complaining as today is my last IMRT! Then let the healing begin.

Water in food counts so this can be adjusted a little. If you are getting chemo, you must keep your fluid levels up or risk kidney damage. You will also feel a lot better when you arte properly hydrated.
I would try taking the morphine 1/2 hour before taking anyrhing else or trying to eat.
Congratulations on making it through but be aware that the radiation effects can continue for several weeks post Tx so you haven't seen the worst of it yet. Depression and thrush are things that will start appearing now also so be watchful for them.
