Has anyone else had this happen? Scared that they are going to cancel brachetherapy.

Donna,
I suspect that your post is too cryptic to get answers. Can you please elaborate.

Hi Markus,
I'll try, though I don't really understand what I am trying to tell everyone. Yesterday the surgeons office called, they said that they were reviewing her case for surgery for 9/17. Her pre-op testing showed that she had an elevated p.t.t. and a.p.t.t. levels. Apparently they are her clotting tests. The only med I can think of is possibly that when they were giving her the Erbitux they first gave her benadryl and I believe they also gave her heparin. I called the mo office and spoke with one nurse and asked her. She said she didn't think so. It was the end of office hours, I don't believe she opened a file or looked at the computer record. I need to call back and speak with the nurse practioner. I explained all of this to the nurse at the surgeons office, she said she would look into it. Feel a little insecure as this is the same office we were dealing with in the very beginning-the office who dropped the ball several times. Mom's RO wants to use this surgeon as he is the best, and knowing that we want that for her. I hope this makes sense and doesn't sound like a lot of rambling. Lately that's all I feel like I am doing.
Thanks again Markus.

Warfarin is the culprit Donna. It is an anticoagulant and used for thinning the blood and preventing clotting.Unfortunately it will also increase the risk of bleeding and prevent clot formation required during the healing of wounds
