Yep you heard it from me, hot off the press, NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH, THE TRACHE IS GONE!!! I am thinking about having the DAMM things mounted, that is how long I had it...I was never so happy as when the DOC said how about us getting rid of that thing today...I started BAWLING I mean I lost it.. I am so so sorry for those of you that have to have one forever,,,,,I just don't know about that, But I would have if that is what they said. So I traded in one thing for another. By this I mean the Doc put some gauze and some paper tape and these little things called STRERLE_STRIP. Lord went to change it last night, when you pull the strip off the skin comes with it. I let out a scream, well it was to me, lol, and I just sat down shaking and cried..Yes mamm or sir,,,,that hurt. So now all in front and the sides of my neck has chunks of skin missing..So I can't put that back on HELL who would want to. So I fixed me up something of my own.....A gals gota do what a gal
s gotta do. It still is stinging like crazy but I will live....Thanks to all of you for listening to me all these months about it and helping me will it....Thank you so very much...I am still trying to get the THERABITE. I cannot find ANY thing about the DYNASPLINT. So if someone could help me with that one..Take much care always Vicki

Miss Vicki, I am so happy to hear you got rid of your trache. I never had one so I don't totally relate to your getting rid of it, but I have seen them and I don't ever want to have one. So I am very happy for you that you got rid of it. One step at a time and I will pray for you again tonight.

Regards, Kirk Georgia

Vicki,

That is such great news! I know this has been such a long ordeal -- I just hope now you'll see some real progress, a bit at a time.

I said that 30 years ago as I watched a guy in a restaurant smoking a cigarrette with one and now I am one. I guess the temporary ones are worst than the permanent one I have. Other than not being able to swim or sing, it is hasn't stopped me from much else. When that is the only choice, you take it. I too hope noone else ever needs the surgery I had.

So happy for you Vicki!

Eileen

Hi Vicki,
I can only imagine what a wonderful feeling it is for you to be rid of that thing. I HATED having one and fought hard to get it out. I only had it for a few days and that was MORE THEN ENOUGH. I have tender skin and my neck was a mess by the time the hole healed over. It took about 3 weeks and it drove me crazy. I found some good tape for sensitive skin and I would fold over some 4x4's and cover the hole with that. I was told it would heal quicker if I pushed on the hole with my fingers anytime I talked so I made sure to do that. I also found that the skin seemed to toughen up after a few days and didn't hurt so much.
I'm so happy that you are making strides, I think about you alot.
Minnie

Miss Vicki,

I am so glad that you have that darned thing gone, finally! You just about had me bawling for joy, too. I never minded you saying anything about it and I wished I could have done more to help you. Anyway, it is gone and that is great news!

Hey Miss Vicki,
Congratulations...yeah no more trache!!! I remember how happy we were when the doc removed Dan's. He also had pretty good tape and we bought 2x2 gauze pads to fix under the tape. It also took Dan about 3 weeks for the hole to close up and he also pushed on the hole when trying to talk. It was one of the hardest things he went thru and you have had it so much longer. I am praising God that you are finally rid of it!
God bless,
Debbie

Congrats Vicki! Be careful when it does close up & don't get too boisterous & pop it back open like I did! I was having an angry fit & yelled & screamed in frustration at my situation & ripped that baby right back open & then it healed funny looking. It looked fine before I did that to myself! Take care!
