I can swallow solid food, but it is not comfortable. There is one spot that is still very sore. Any idea how long this might continue? Am I being impatient? Could I be doing more harm than good by trying to eat regular food? My doctor says everything looks OK, but it doesn't feel OK. Info and reassurance both appreciated.

My throat is also still somewhat restricted (I was gagging regularly on calcium pills a week or so ago, so I stopped taking them).
My throat got worse for me for a few weeks after treatment ended, so hang tight, it will get better.
Best wishes,
Chris

My mom has BOT cancer too and is 9-10 weeks past rad tx and still does not even swallow much water let alone eat. Sounds like your recovery is going well, although I am sure it seems like it is taking too long it sounds to me like you are ahead of the pack on recovery. Hang in there!

You are doing really well. So don't push--don't choose foods that might irritate your throat- go slow and easy with what might work. If you had something simple like a tonsilectomy, you would be on icecream and pudding for quite a while- Take lots of time to heal- you deserve that. Amy in the Ozarks
