Hello,

Penny had been taking 150 fentynol patch and also liquid Roxicet- then they switched her to morphine and fentynol and no roxicet, because she thought a rash she had could have been from the roxicet. She now thinks she is allergic to the morphine since her pain in her mouth gets worse-additonal swelling of her tongue and the blister pain seems to be intensified. No rash really or mental impairment issues as others here have posted - curious if anyone has had similar experiences?

Sarah,

I stopped taking Roxicet because I developed a rash. Never was given fentynol or morphine.

Roxicet is the generic name for Percocet and one of the minor side effects is itchy skin. Morphine is a much faster and powerful "short term" narcotic then Percocet. That's why they switched her. It's pretty standard to get Fentanyl (for long term pain management) and Morphine (for "breathrough" pain). Her pain thresholds are probably worsening - that's why she is having her pain meds adjusted. They can go up to 300 mcg on the Fentanyl is necessary. Many narcotics (including Vicodin) can cause itchiness.

I was on Fentnyl and Morphine for months.

Caution: Fentanyl is very potent and you MUST follow the directions for use very carefully.
