Also, it's a good idea to bring a friend or someone who can help be an extra pair of ears. Also, I would write down a list of questions you have first to make sure you have them all answered.
Good luck with it all. I know for me,one of the most stressful times in this whole process was when I went for my second opinion and was getting disagreeing recommendations about treatment from pople locally. There was just so much to process quickly and over what was a really critical decision! Please come back and let us know what you hear from th biopsy results and the second opinion.

Now they want to do a real surgical biopsy. Any opinions?

Why wait? Results same day. Beats worrying. Once you know what you are dealing with, it is a lot easier to make decisons.

You obviously need a surgical biopsy. Schedule it, get it done so you know what you're dealing with. Dragging this out and avoiding possibly hearing what you DON'T want to hear isn't the right way to go. You'll feel better once you KNOW.
SCC Left Mandible. Jaw replaced with bone from leg. Neck disection, 37 radiation treatments. Recurrence 8-28-07, stage 2, tongue. One third of tongue removed 10-4-07. 5-23-08 chemo started for tumor behind swallowing passage, Our good friend and much loved OCF member Minnie has been lost to the disease (RIP 10-29-08). We will all miss her greatly.
