And, do people who have had neck dissection removing all the nodes - do they usually still have radiation there as well if a node was positive? Just wondering.
SCC Right Lateral Tongue T2N0M0 Dx 01/12/06, Surgery 01/25/06. Partial Glossectomy, Bilateral Neck Dissection - 22 lymph nodes - all clear. No radiation.

SCC(T2N0M0) part.glossectomy & neck dissect 2/9/05 & 2/25/05.33 IMRT(66 Gy),2 Cisplatin ended 06/03/05.Stage I breast cancer treated 2/05-11/05.Surgery to remove esophageal stricture 07/06, still having dilatations to keep esophagus open.Dysphagia. "When you're going through hell, keep going"

That was always the plan of order with my doctors, they did not decide to have a neck dissection after radiation. The dissection was always part of my treatment. That may be because I had no symptoms at all other than a swollen gland (lymph node) that would not go away. This I had for about a month. lenny | | |
