Hi Gang:

It's your pals Kim (and Dave) asking for some help advancing oral cancer awareness on local levels! I recently had the opportunity to speak with our fearless leader Brian about the possibility of producing OCF pins and sending them to interested members to circulate in our respective geographic areas.

As you know, the OCF board is looking to enhance services and increase public exposure and this effort may be a good first step to the larger goal. Brian assures me that producing the pins is cost effective and easy to accomplish.

Now, here is where you all come in...!! Brian is interested in knowing the following:

1.How many members are interested in distributing pins to dentists, MD's, nurses, surgeons, radiation techs, friends & family, etc.? Most of us come in contact with LOTS of these providers and personal contacts regularly and could easily circulate pins advocating for the organization(and providing web site access information) with little effort. There will be no charge to members who wish to order pins to distribute.

2. What catchy slogan should be on the pin? What would "grab you" and get you thinking about oral cancer risks and the need for screening?

Please weigh in with your level of interest and thoughts about potential slogans ASAP.

Personal to Packer: I'm expecting a really good slogan from you!

HIGH DEGREE of INTEREST, of course pain med induced.....willing to distribute to all we meet...........I will meditate on slogan...................Packer

In my experience, pain meds have been known to cause very creative results! I can't wait to see what you come up, Packer! Go, opiates!

I would be happy to distribute pins and/or literature about the OCF in Asheville. The medical center and specialists here serve most of western North Carolina.

Slogan: Open your mouth...wide. Let's talk about oral cancer.
