My doctor talks so fast and i don't see him again until 10/26/05 to follow up on my partial glossectomy. I think he said margins are great, but spots of dysplasia are present. Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but doesn't dysplasia always turn into cancer (given time).
This board has been a godsend. Finally, a place where I don't feel so alone.
Jenn

I would want any surgical only solution to be complimented by radiation, especially if dysplsia were present in the margins. A second opinon from a radiation oncologist might be in order.

Since my mother died of brain cancer 3 years ago, I'm not really satisfied with that answer. I am scheduling an appointment with the local cancer center. I think that should make things clearer. Part of the problem is I can't really speak yet to ask questions...and it seems like everyone is in such a hurry.
Thanks

Any good doctor will take the time to explain things well.
