Hi again..just a question to those who might have experienced the same thing...Since my biopsy I have felt worse than I did before. New lumps have come up in my neck and the base of my skull that dont particularly hurt, but if I touch them they hurt...I know the answer to that one - dont touch them right?
I have a constant ache in my tongue, ear and swollen glands, etc and I can put up with that, but sometimes I get sudden sharp pains, similar pattern to contractions and then they go away after a while.
My tongue looks way better than what it did before the biopsy but hurts a lot more. I took a long course of antibiotics after the biopsy as well.
I have quite a high pain tolerence. My doc has said to take pain med anytime I need it, but I have this feeling that I should be gearing up for pain med after surgery, rad etc. Should I worry about becoming, whats the word, immune to pain killers?
I have an appointment next Friday with specialist so I will be asking all these questions, but would be interested in some 'horses mouth' advice.

There are so many diffrent pain relievers now that there is no reason for you not to be comfortable. Hydrocodone is pretty mild and should help right now. When the pain gets heavy during treatment more than likly you would be on something heavier anyways, I know I was on morphine patches towards the end of treatment.There is no reason for you to have to live with pain these days, hope this info helps and good luck to you.

These days there is no need ever to be in pain, the old feeling that pain relief works less effectively after a while is well redundant, so take just enough to stop the pain and then try to relax, stress reduces the pain threshold.

Hi there Helen and Bob...I will take that advice on board. I have been taking hydrocodone occasionally. I tend to listen to everyone's advice and perhaps shouldnt take too much of it to heart. lol. I am having a coffee day today...I have had enough of this green tea :p
