Hi Everyone,

I haven't posted in a bit.....thought I would give an update on Grandma.

Things have gone from bad to worse. The cancer has spread so fast (as far as we know....just in her mouth and neck). The doctors and specialist have never seen anything grow so fast. The doctors say this is very rare.....they still don't really know what kind of cancer it is. She finally had her first radiation treatment yesterday. She is to go for her next treatment on Monday. They are not doing chemo. She had to go for an emergency operation this morning to have a tube put in her throat and the PEG tube. She can't breathe because the tumor has filled her entire mouth and constricted her throat. I have done a lot of research on the internet and looked at a lot of tumors, but NEVER seen anything like the one in my Grandma

Hi Kristy,
I love my grandmother dearly so my heart goes out to you. Spend as much time with your granmother as you can and talk about when you were small, etc. She will enjoy that.
Did you pursue a second opinion with your grandmother?
Take care,
Minnie

Hello Christy,

My thoughts and prayers go out to your Grandma and your family. Did the doctors say what kind of cancer she has? I also have never heard of cancer spreading so fast.

Best Wishes, Danny Boy

Christy,

My heart and prayers go out to you and your grandma. I pray that god gives you both strength to endure and beat this disease. It's scary how agressive this disease is.

Dear Christy
Nothing in this world ever prepares us for this, just take heart from the fact that you are a member of such a close family and take from each other the support you need.
Prayers Love and Special Hugs

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for all your responses, as always.....:-))

To Danny: They don't know what kind of cancer it is still....even after the 2 biopsies she had. He said there are cells like the SCC, but they don't look exactly the same. They are reproducing at such a fast rate (different too). All the specialists at the Cross Cancer Institute haven't seen anything like this. It is awful. Everyday we see her it has grown more. It is sticking out of her mouth.....and the blood just drips out of her mouth. The doctor said as it bleeds it is growing. I think even if we got a second opinion it is too late.

Everyone pray that the 4 or 5 radiation treatments this week will shrink the tumor. The doctors can't give up yet.

I am off to the hospital now. Take care everyone.....:-))

Christy

Christy: Your grandmother has been very fortunate to have such a wonderful granddaughter advocating for her & helping her get medical attention. You will always have the comfort of knowing that you did everything you could. Since time is precious, spend as much time as you can with her and know that you have been a wonderful granddaughter. Life is never perfect and sometimes it sucks. But you have done the best you could and she is lucky to have you. Take care - Candace

Christy,

I wish I had the words to express how sorry I am that you and your gradmother have had to endure so much. You have been such a wonderful, caring and loving granddaughter and your support has been given with such love. There is a special place in heaven for people like you who give so much of themselves. I'm sure the time you're spending with your grandmother now is comforting to her. I'm praying for miracles even if that's only for peace and comfort.

God bless and we're all here for you,

Nancy

Hey Christy,
You and grandma are in my prayers. I loved my grandma dearly so I know how you feel right now. I agree with the others that you are a Godsend to her during this time and even though it's terribly hard to see her like this, spend all the time you can with her. You will be so glad you did. I will pray for healing, comfort and strength for you and your family.
Take care and God bless,
Debbie
