Being an alcholic and an Rn also I just have a few Questions. Has he reached bottom yet? Does he see the look in his childrens eyes or is he to busy in his self pity Zone.? Sorry to say only a drunk can save a drunk and he has to want to. Can you and the kids go somewhere for the holidays so they can have childhood memories not nightmares of dad sick and now drunk.I know my words are harsh but they come from someone who has been there . Every day I have to challange myself not to pick up with my husband's very negative attitude. But if I do it will because I want to ,not the look what you made me do. We all have choices unfortunately your children's are less. Loving him doesn't seem to be waking him up.Please seek a way for you and your children to find peace. Yes this is a disease but the cure has to come from him.
