Has anyone had their esophagus dilated? It has been 1 year since I had my neck disection and 9 months since my 6 weeks of radiation ended. I can only get less than 1 teaspoon of thin fluids down with each swallow on a good day. I have had a swallowing study performed by a Radiologist & Speech Therapist. You could see where my throat just will not open up. It is getting very frustrating. My Surgeon and ENT has recommended the dilation procedure amd I wanted some feedback from anyone who may have experienced this procedure.
On the bright side of things, I have been getting good results on my follow up examinations & scans. My overweight problem is gone and I am down to my high school size in clothes (30 yrs ago).
Any feedback would be appreciated.
