Diagnosed May 2002 with Stage IV tongue cancer, two lymph nodes positive. Surgery to remove 1/2 tongue, neck dissection, 35 radiation treatments. 11/2007, diagnosed with cancer of soft palate, surgery 12/14/07, jaw split. 3/24/10, cancer on tongue behind flap, need petscan, surgery scheduled 4/16/10

Thank you so much for your post. I was so terribly shocked about Lynn's passing. As a fellow Christian, we wrote privately, but I was unaware of how sick she really was. Lynn was so upbeat and helped me thru some rough spots. It broke my heart for you and your little girls to have "mom" go away. May God be with you and please know that I pray for you and your girls everyday and you begin a new normal. Thanks for sharing about her service...I knew she must have many, many friends as she was such a good friend to so many of us on the board.

SCC Left Mandible. Jaw replaced with bone from leg. Neck disection, 37 radiation treatments. Recurrence 8-28-07, stage 2, tongue. One third of tongue removed 10-4-07. 5-23-08 chemo started for tumor behind swallowing passage, Our good friend and much loved OCF member Minnie has been lost to the disease (RIP 10-29-08). We will all miss her greatly.

SCC Tongue, stage IV diagnosed Sept, 2002, 1st radical neck dissection left side in Sept, followed by RAD/Chemo. Discovered spread to right side nodes March 2003, second radical neck dissection April, followed by more RAD/Chemo.

Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 30 | Mike, Thank You so much for sharing about Lynn. Back in April, I discovered Lung mets too, Lynn and I were both 40 and we sent many emails supporting each other. I was lucky enough to have surgery in June and Lynn cried because she was so happy for me. I don't know what is in store for me now, I have been told that chemo will not work, but Lynn is always there in the back of my mind cheering me on.
I also pray for you and your daughters, it must be very hard without mom around.
