While my husband was in the hospital with an infection and severe case of thrush they used a solution and sprayed his mouth with it powered by the oxygen in the room. The nurse said it would get rid of the dead cells and allow the new skin to accept the mediction better. He has thrush again and I came up with the idea of a waterpik using the baking soda and salt to wash away the dead skin so the Nystatin swish would get to the new skin. It really helped. An idea

This idea needs to be flagged for safekeeping. It is great. It also might work to help get rid of thick saliva and mucous. Amy in Oz
